Primevera is the finnish word for spring and the pattern evokes new life and warmth. Maija Isola painted the pattern when she lived in Oran in Algeria, and she was possibly inspired by thoughts of home. Perhaps she was imagining a summer morning in Finland and dewdrops on a meadow full of flowers.
