To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the beloved Astrid Lindgren character Pippi Longstocking, Design House Stockholm has created this Astrid Lindgren Pippi anniversary mug 35 cl, where 10 SEK per sold mug goes to Save the Children's project to help girls on the run. The handle of the anniversary mug looks like one of Pippi's two braids, which is one of her most well-known trademarks. Inside the mug, there is an illustration of Pippi confidently lifting the horse Lilla Gubben in the air. An image that exudes both courage and strength, which are two of Pippi Longstocking's most distinctive characteristics.

The book Pippi Longstocking was published in the autumn of 1945. This was a time when millions of people were forced to flee, many of whom were children. In the midst of this despair, Astrid Lindgren creates the still beloved character Pippi, who is a strong, kind, curious, anti-authoritarian, and playful girl full of original ideas and quirky inventions. Today, more people are on the run than ever before, 68.5 million according to the UN refugee agency UNHCR, half of whom are children and girls are particularly vulnerable. The collaboration between Astrid Lindgren Company, Design House Stockholm and Save the Children contributes to empowering girls on the run and giving them the opportunity to share their story with the world and fulfil their future goals.
